The SGE 4003 Gas Mask has multi-purpose applications. The following are the characteristics of the SGE 4003

Quick release head harness with six adjustable straps

Extremely durable polycarbonate visor has been tested to resist a one-quarter inch steel ball, that was propelled at 335 MPH without cracking or damaging the face shield 

The mask was also tested for heat resistance and will not catch fire or melt at 800 Degrees C (1472 F) for 5 Sec. or 200 degrees C (372 F) for a duration of 6 Min 

Tecnopro full face masks meet the requirements of EN 136 and are CE marked Tecnopro full face masks can be used with all standard 40mm NATO threaded filters in compliance with EN 148-1 (DIN 3183) and with powered respirators and airlines 

Visor is made of impact resistant Polycarbonate 

Inner mask and face seal is made of non allergic silicone

What is Potassium Iodide and how does it work?


Radioactive Iodine (radioiodine) is produced in nuclear emergencies and comes down in 
fallout. If inhaled or ingested, it resides in the thyroid gland increasing a risk of cancer.
Potassium Iodide harmlessly saturates the thyroid, blocking absorption of radioiodine.

The American Thyroid Association Endorses Potassium Iodide as “Essential” for Preventing Radiation Related Cancer.

The American Thyroid Association (ATA) endorses the use of potassium iodide (KI) to protect people from absorbing radioactive iodine released during nuclear emergencies. 

High levels of radioactive iodine exposure can cause thyroid cancer, especially in babies and children up to 18 years of age. KI reduces the risk of thyroid cancer in exposed populations.

ATA advocates KI as an essential adjunct to evacuation, sheltering, and avoiding contaminated food, milk, and water.” -American Thyroid Association
